I am a licensed therapist who guides sessions with curiosity, authenticity, warmth, and humor, helping patients gain clarity and build coping skills to bring them greater happiness and peace. My masters degree is in Holistic Counseling Psychology from JFK University, specializing in Buddhist Psychology.
I have expertise with the mental health needs of hackers (software developers, engineers), related to the long hours, isolation, security issues, and other pressures that can affect wellbeing. I have roots in the tech community and value online privacy and security. Sessions can be conducted in person or online via encrypted video chat.
Additionally, I do a lot of work with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Queer & Questioning community and have deep understanding of the challenges these communities faces. Our families are rarely straightforward (pun intended) we are usually blended in one way or another – culturally, racially, and biologically complex entities, usually with an ex hanging around somewhere! Homophobia in the culture, internalized homophobia, coming out, and gender complexity all sit on top of the general challenges of modern life and add a layer of complexity to therapy.
