Psychotherapist, Professor, Clinical Supervisor

Leader in trauma therapy as both an educator and clinician

What I do

Clinical Supervisor

Unfortunately, effective teaching is often lacking in traditional psychotherapy training programs. Even after gaining your 3,000 hours of supervised practice associates still might find they lack the confidence to face challenges in their therapy practice.

As a holistic therapist I bring deep experience with complex cases and trauma therapy to the table. My background as a professor equips you with practical skills you’ll need to combat the normal fear and uncertainty you may face after completing your education.

I provide a supportive and structured environment, where you can earn a living wage while gaining their supervised clinical hours.

As both a clinician and professor I provide you with not only the supervision you require but the confidence and skills you need.

I have over 15 years experience as a psychotherapist, specializing largely in treating trauma and PTSD. A large percentage of my current practice is with clinicians.

I work individually with psychotherapists on their own journey, and I lead retreats for therapists experiencing burnout or vicarious trauma. I also have a large clinical supervision practice for therapy interns as they transition into licensed practice.

As a clinician I use an eclectic mix of methodologies including EMDR, IFS and Expressive Arts, pivoting to different methods as each person’s therapy evolves and changes. As an educator I get to stay current with emerging theories and practices and am constantly exposed to the widely varied interests of my students and interns. This way my clients therapy can be as agile and emergent as their life circumstances demand. The last two decades have brought a staggering array of advances in our understanding of neuroscience, of the brain, and how people work/what makes us tick.

The core message of this tremendous amount of study is that we as humans are deeply social, we are essentially pack animals, and in order to thrive we need to be embedded in safe and loving communities. From families to neighborhoods to governments, the health of our communities determines our individual states of mental health. My work as a therapist is essentially helping my clients develop the internal resources they need in order to build the safe and sustainable relationships where they will thrive.
